Watch your mouth SIS

When we speak good things into our lives, God will bring good things into our lives. When we speak words of defeat, hopelessness, and despair, we invite corresponding events. Proverbs 18:21 puts it this way: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” If you love life and you cherish the power of the tongue, then you can harness its power and enjoy the fruits of your speech.

Perhaps this is why King David cautioned us in Psalm 34:13 to “keep your tongue from evil …” It is so important that we guard our tongue from speaking words that might bring evil into our lives. I’ve heard a suggestion that can help us bring this awareness into our lives.

Before we speak, we need to THINK —
Is it Truthful?
Is itHelpful?
Is it Inspiring?
Is it Necessary?
Is itKind?

If we can’t answer “yes” to these questions, then we are better off keeping our mouths closed. On the other hand, if our words do meet our criteria, we must speak them abundantly.

The tongue has power. Speak responsibly!

Be encouraged SIS so you can be an inspiration to others.
